Great Antique North Italian heavy hand carved chestnut fireplace mantel.
Carved on each of the sides there are two Renaissance dragons with snake-scaled body. In the left and right front panel two hunting scenes with dogs and in the center panel supported by two characters in period clothing a beautiful fined carved noble coat of arms with a roaring lion on its hind legs.
Originally It was probably supporting a stone or marble top.
External dimension are:
74.8" wide at the wall side.
29.5" max protrusion deep at the center 25" min protrusion deep at the sides
26" max height at the wall side 14" height at the center with the coat of arms
Internale dimensions are:
60" wide between the sides, 18,5" max deep from the inside center to the wall 16" on from the sides to the wall.
