Carved on each of the sides there are two Renaissance … more Great Antique North Italian heavy hand carved chestnut fireplace mantel.
Carved on each of the sides there are two Renaissance dragons with snake-scaled body. In the left and right front panel two hunting scenes with dogs and in the center panel supported by two characters in period clothing a beautiful fined carved noble coat of arms with a roaring lion on its hind legs.
Originally It was probably supporting a stone or marble top.
