It has a very small bevel on the top edge. It looks like the glass has a light tint to it. For example, if you hold your hand underneath the glass you can see the difference, but very subtle. I used felt backed place mats for protection and table cloth. If you look closesly you can see the scratches from normal use. Other than that, the glass lightens up the dining room, reflects light nicesly and you can see the base design through the glass clearly. There are no cracks. Re: Base.
