In this portrait, one can perceive this strong bond by the comfortable ease with which the horse stands next to the elegantly dressed woman. For the portrait sitting, the woman seems to have dressed to complement her stately horse. The horse's expression exudes love and familiarity. One wonders what has become of these two 35 years later.
