Elephants have a … more In 1968 I was gifted these five hand-carved, wooden, Ashanti elephants from a friend returning from Ghana. Elephants have a variety of metaphorical meanings, such as good luck, strength, and protection. These pachyderms with their trunks’ downward orientation represent life and the ability to conquer obstacles. Contrary to what many people think, an elephant’s trunk pointing downward does NOT indicate bad luck.
Since elephants are regarded as protectors, it s appropriate to place them at the entrance of an abode.
Condition:
Two of the elephants had their tusks glued back in.
While three elephants do have cracks as shown in pictures #4, 5, and 6, it does not in any way detract from the beauty of these magnificent creatures. less
