They are hand-painted in gold and bronze on a black crackled background in French toile style with band and flower motif. The sconces are surrounded by a beautiful scalloped shape with a raised gold painted rim. Each sconce has a solid brass fitting which holds one taper candle or can easily be unscrewed to add a glass hurricane offering versatility to the pair.
