Description: Vintage: Hollywood Regency into the Mid-Century period is this Italian hand-painted large and oversized, porcelain majolica monkey, with a curled, … more Vintage: Hollywood Regency into the Mid-Century period is this Italian hand-painted large and oversized, porcelain majolica monkey, with a curled, "S-shaped," tail, painted toenails and all, including a banana in hand. This majolica monkey was sourced from a South, Florida Estate; filled with Danish/Scandinavian furniture and decorative accent pieces from the Hollywood Regency and into the Mid-Century, though the Danish/Scandinavian periods of Furniture, Lighting and Decorative periods of design, some of which was from a well-known Gross Pointe, Michighan artist, who lived in an iconic, Mid-Cenutry home, until her move to South Florida, whereupon we sourced this piece. The color combination, with swathes of evident hand-painted details, simplified, yet distinguished upon the era, even the toenails are prominently painted. Original felt base bottom orb spots had been placed to protect from any chipping or breakage. This piece has been lovingly taken care of. We dusted her or him off and hope the monkey lover's will truly enjoy this piece as we do.
