It is composed of brass brackets and rods in the art nouveau style that was so popular at the time.

Due to its industrial design, the sturdy wire shelf can withstand a lot of weight. The shelf does slant upward slightly to secure valuables on a moving train. This angle will hold and display hand towels, hats, and other soft goods easily.
