Very unusual German carved wood gold finish wall clock circa the 1940s. The figures could be sea monsters, dragons or foo dogs. This is a German interpretation of a Gustavian design complete with harp, torches, leaves, ribbons, trellis, sunburst and sea monsters. Measures approximately 16"w x 26"h x 5"d.
New battery movement has been installed recently so the clock keeps time. The original workings, pendulum and key will also be included in the event the buyer wishes to have the original workings reinstalled.
Chairish sells clocks only with display as the intended use. The mechanical elements are not guaranteed to be in working order by Chairish.

- The clock is in good vintage condition, though there is some loss of finish and some areas appear to have … moreThe clock is in good vintage condition, though there is some loss of finish and some areas appear to have been touched up. The original workings have been removed and replaced with a battery movement that keeps time. The battery will be removed for shipping, takes one AA battery. I will ship the original workings, pendulum, and key, should the buyer be interested in restoring the clock to its original mechanisms, but I make no guarantee that this is possible as the original parts were removed when I found it at an estate sale and I am not a clock expert. Nonetheless, the clock is a very unique item that is in current working condition via its battery mechanism and presents in lovely vintage condition, ready to hang on a wall. less
