The vase is decorated in a continuous scene of figures in a garden landscape, dressed in garments befitting civil officials and soldiers of a Chinese (not Manchu) dynasty. The neck of the vase is decorated in moss covered rocks among chrysanthemums and orchids and painted in famille verte enamels. Two double blue lines are applied on the neck rim and the base with a row of alternating cross hatchings on the shoulder.
