The pattern is evocative of the influence of Egyptian Revival art movement of the early 1920's. This movement was influenced by the discovery of king Tutankhamen's Tomb in 1922. The motif on this vase was a common wall trim in the tombs of the kings and queens of Egypt and adopted into the Art Deco style.
