What sets it apart is the repetition of the 'X' pattern in the stitched bands and in a larger scale on the two side panels. The consideration of the design motif and placement give the humble box a slightly more sophisticated edge, setting it apart. It is functional folk art and would work well on a desktop or as an addition to a box collection. It is made of birch and pine and is signed and dater on the bottom. less
