This circular plate or dish was designed by Carl Halier in the 1940s.
Items covered with this type of Sung glaze gives every piece a unique expression, and the glaze was extremlely popular among artist at the factory - among those Knud Kyhn, Bode Willumsen and Karl Larsen
Carl Halier was a German potter, who found his way to Copenhagen just before WW1. He started at Royal Copenhagen as an assistant for
Patrick Nordstrom; an icon that pioneered the use of stoneware at the factory. Hallier had his own studio for a few years (1926-30), but returned to RC and stayed here until his death in 1948.
This bowl is probably one of his most iconic designs; a timeless design that stayed in Royal Copenhagens catalogue for decades after. This bowl is from the late 1960s.
Model no 21824 - written at bottom along with Carl Halier monogram and the Royal Copenhagen stamp.
