This Art Nouveau crumb tray and scoop by American silversmith James W Tufts was manufactured circa 1899 in Boston, Mass. It is quadruple silver plated and stamped “Plate Guaranteed James W Tufts, Boston.” Is also stamped with a maker’s mark, and the scoop is marked 714 while the tray is marked 715.
The tray features a standing woman with long tresses and draping gowns. The scoop has a reclining classically clothed woman, whose legs and feet make up the handle.
This silver plate crumber tray and scoop show signs of wear consistent with age and use. This included spots of minor tarnishing and scoring.
Dimensions: tray - 7.25” width, 7.75” depth, 1” height, scoop - 11.75” width, 3.25” depth, .5” height less
