About the Vienna bronze:
The tradition of Vienna Bronze can be traced back to the middle of the 19th century. At that time, around 50 manufacturers were based in Vienna, and Vienna Bronzes quickly became renowned as showpieces, considered luxury items, and highly collectible. Vienna bronzes were typically designed directly by the artists, who would shape the casting molds for further reproduction. A single bronze figure was often cast in separate sections using a method known as "sand casting," then welded together and handed over to the painters. To achieve the signature look, several layers of paint were applied to the bronze, creating the distinctive cold-painted finish that remains a hallmark of Vienna Bronzes today. less
