Created during the important 14 year reign of emperor Tongzhi (Tung Chih). The period of emperor Tongzhi marked a renaissance of Chinese imperial porcelains. Tongzhi restored the official kilns at Jingdezhen after the rebellions of the 1850s destroyed the cities of Jingdezhen and Nanjing. So, needless to say, these vases come from a very important time period which makes them rare. The vases are matching in size, but not colors. I think this makes them more interesting. less
