He began working as an apprentice for cabinetmaker H.F. Stahlberg, finishing his apprenticeship at 17. Wegner attended the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen from 1936 to 1938 before establishing his own design studio in 1943. The core of Wegner's legacy is his focus on showing the inner soul of furniture pieces through a simple and functional exterior. These chairs were just professionally re-caned and will provide years of comfortable use. The caning is brand new, however the wooden parts of the chairs shows some wear consistent with age. less
