A pair of antique Japanese Meiji period vases, each features a midnight blue ground and is decorated with silver wire and colored enamels to depict a tranquil scene of two sparrows perched on a branch beneath hanging wisteria and above a dense composition of flowers including peonies and iris blossoms.
