At a distance, the nuanced color of this pair reads black, however, upon further investigation they are brown. My research shows this to be a particular glaze, known as “mirror black” in Chinese culture. These mid century vessels have been newly converted with brown wood vase caps, and bases with brushed brass hardware. Each has a three-way socket and new black cords.
