Impressive and incredibly cool vintage, early 20th to Mid-Century, hanging double-sided mechanical grocery/produce pan scale made by Great Western Mfg. Co., Los Angeles California. The date of the last California Weights and Measures sticker is 1966.
Featuring a large very heavy-weight double sided scale, each face of the scale is enclosed in thick convex glass. The face is creamy white with large easy to read black graphic print. The housing is perfectly balanced to enclose the weighing mechanism, and the double pinion bridge is fastened on both ends for reliable support. It has the original deep round stainless steel pan with drainage holes that sits in a chromed steel band hanging from steel arms which connects to the scale itself.

This is an amazing industrial decorative and/or functional item! It is in incredible vintage condition- minor wear consistent with age and history. All original ca. 1930s to 1950s, and has not been repainted or restored. This was purchased from a family run market in Beverly Hills, CA. It would look fantastic in a kitchen, restaurant, or general store setting. Would also make a really cool repurposed planter. It's awesome. Even better in person. less
