paintings as well as landscape scenes, Jay Campbell Phillips had a New York
studio at 11 East 59th Street. He was basically self taught and was also an illustrator
who depicted the social life of young America.
A student of William Merritt Chase with an exhibition history including the Corcoran
Biennials in 1895 among other international institutions. less
