The pedestal comes from an elegant apartment in Milan created and decorated by Alessandro Mazzucotelli in the first decades of the 20th century.
This kind of accessory was usually used as a support for Murano glass cups, as can be seen from the contemporary works of Umberto Bellotto. But it can also be used as a support for flower pots.
