This is a masterfully painted work in the style of Picasso’s Rose period. It leans on the famous painting, “Boy Leading a Horse”. Executed in oil on artist cardboard, circa 1910. The harlequin or carnival performer is a pleasant theme. The painting is unsigned and the frame is later.
The Rose period is a term used to define the monochromatic paintings in shades of pink, orange and earth tones, occasionally mixed with cooler blue and blue-green accents.
Condition: The painting is untouched. There are a few breaks in the cardboard and some missing paint.
