For operæ – independent design festival eighth edition, secondome under the artistic direction of claudia pignatale, presents “wunderbrust” a project by matteo cibic, crafted by doc. As described by the fair curator, alice stori lichtenstein “while nosing and poking around the atelier of doc, matteo cibic was struck by the skill required for making cushions and craft with which boxes and containers were leather-bound. He started to play with the idea of a trunk, seeing it as a timeless object which is passed along in a family. With an eye to the luxurious travelling trunks of the past, and one to the humbler and traditional wooden chest, cibic developed his own very personal interpretation. The result is a seating bench, that by lifting the lid can be used as a storage space. Using the most natural leather as a canvas, he applied color and a pattern with his signature humour.” the chest is entirely handmade, crafted in natural leather and chamois, thus subjected to changes through time. The gallery secondome is a design gallery focused on contemporary designers and innovative projects worldwide. Founded by claudia pignatale in 2006, secondome produces its own collection of furniture and objects working to launch experimental designers, artisans and master craftsmen. Its mission lies in highlighting both the high quality manufacture of the made in italy brand and the originality of products, emphasizing the tradition of italian craftsmanship whilst breaking the mold of lifeless objets d’art. Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.
