"Stupid Game" is one of the pieces from the "Fetishes" series created by moldovan-spanish artist Natasha Lelenco in 2022. This artwork talks about peace and about the stupid game of war. An anthropomorphic figure crafted from botanical elements confronts a small toy depicting a plastic soldier in this surreal blue and green artwork by Natasha Lelenco. The foolish game of humankind against nature, from its plastic insignificance, is addressed by Natasha in a piece distinguished by meticulous figurative work, compositional originality, and the brilliance of its colors. This makes this piece a powerful work, whether installed individually or as part of a multiple composition with other pieces from the same series and format. This work can be interpreted as an anti-war statement, as well as taking a clear critical stance against the degradation of the planet due to human impact. This painting was originated as a commission for the exhibition "Imaxinaria, Mostra Internacional de Ilustración Contemporánea" in Santiago de Compostela and A Coruña, Spain. It is part of the "Fetishes" series where the artist addresses themes such as the human position in nature, questioning anthropocentrism as an unquestionable stance. The piece has been conceived as an absolute whole and does not require a frame. The sides have been worked on and are an integral part of its composition. Lelenco's "Fetiches" series melds portraiture and anthropomorphic forms, achieved through a meticulous accumulation of elements. These elements intertwine with a nuanced thematic exploration, touching upon both kitsch and popular iconography.
