Description: This is a rare and exquisite hand carved Daoist immortal figure. He is seated in a quiet meditation pose on … more This is a rare and exquisite hand carved Daoist immortal figure. He is seated in a quiet meditation pose on a lotus flower. In his right hand he holds a finely carved fly whisk. His hair is pulled into two a double topknots. (One topknot is missing)

This figure is masterfully carved from a single piece of wood. Traces of polychrome and gilding are still visible. Despite age and handling the condition is good.

Condition: The very tip of the nose is missing. There is a fine crack in the wood and a topknot is missing.
