It came from a French Beaux-Arts portfolio of 4 volumes of "Encyclopedie de la Plante", an “artistique” and “documentaire” collection of botanical plates. This work showcases details and intricacies of the structure of the apple tree with its fruit. It has a wonderful strong graphic quality. The line drawing aspect of the botanical study is very evident and makes the image unique and RARE. The inset detail of the apple tree itself adds additional interest as well. The lithograph is in excellent vintage condition. Done in light and dark green tones. 11.5 x 15 inches in size. See less
