A vintage Persian Karajeh carpet. Rarely are Karajeh carpets red rather than dark blue. This attractive NW Persian rural carpet displays three columns of characteristic octogrammes and hooked hexagons, but in goldenrod and mustard. The rosette ornamentation of the medallions is unusual and attractive. The navy border mixes bent leaves, squares and geometric flowers in no particular order, giving a naïve and charming effect.
