This 2003 aquatint etching depicts the southern facade of New York City's Grand Central Terminal. Numbered, titled, signed, and dated in pencil lower margin: "134/160 Hermes Facade (GCT) Michael Arike 2003". Print size: 9 x 6 inches plate line to plate line, on a deckle-edged sheet of watermarked BFK Rives paper measuring 15 x 11-1/2 inches. Mint condition, from an immaculate private collection of a member of the Print Club of New York.
Michael Arike (born 1933) studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. She is a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA), where she has served as council member. Her work is in the collections of numerous art institutions, including: the British Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, the Portland Museum, the New York Public Library, the Nelson-Atkins Museum, and the Mississippi Museum of Art, Jackson. She has received many awards including New York Society of Etchers' I. Friedman Award (2001), Print Club of Albany's Daniel Smith Award and Merit Award (1995).
