An elegant and well loved early 20th Century writing table or desk, in the French Louis XVI style. Wonderful patina. Rendered in beautiful crotch mahogany veneer over oak, square tapered legs resting on brass sabots. Two pull out writing slides to both sides. Functioning locks and drawers. Original green leather top with heavy wear and patina, one larger scrape to the lower center right, as shown.
A classic piece in fair antique condition. Very structurally sound, but with wear and chips to the drawer facing, superficial cracking to the top veneer, a few larger scrapes and veneer chips as shown.
Thoroughly cleaned and polished with a fine french paste wax. Ready to place in a cozy den or library. less
