This Silver-Gilt Picture Frame come from the estate of Jane Wrightsman, (a benefactor of the arts and grande dame of New York society whose celebrated collections of decorative and fine arts surrounded her life with grandeur, and became treasures of the Metropolitan Museum of Art ). Dinh Van is the celebrated Parisan jeweler whose creative effervescence around him pushed him to leave Cartier, where he had worked for ten years, and start his own brand. In 1965, dinh van opened its doors and brought its own touch to modern luxury: designer jewelry for everyday wear.
Frame is signed and marked ‘.800’. Highest quality: Beveled edge glass with gray moire lining. Frame measures 7 3/4 x 10 1/8 in. from outer edge to outer edge. Some minor wear to the finish and a few scratches consistent with use. The leather supports also with some wear- but overall great condition, great provenance and a superb maker.
