Beginning in 1925 he began experimenting with … Read more Camille Faure Limoges decorative enamel plaque of pink roses and blue accent flowers. Beginning in 1925 he began experimenting with glass enamel. He would build up the surface with layers of enamel before firing it which gives his roses a three dimensional real quality. To get the colors of pink in these roses they add copper and gold to the enamels with purified water to form a paste, then apply it to a copper form, before being fired, one color at a time. It would take more than 7 days to make this plaque. They continued to make these works of art for decades. The full measurement with the frame is 10”W x 12”L , the plaque itself measures 3 1/4”W x 5 1/4”L. It is signed on the front Faure Limoges France. There is also a Limoges label on the back. See less
