A rarel & unusual Indian folk art wall shelf with mirror. Very skillfully hand painted in lovely bright colours by artists with mythological figures such as Vishnu, Lakshmi & Ganesha - all well known Hindu Gods. The shelf has meticulous floral borders against a black background. Note the fine turned support columns. Has iron chain on back for wall mounting.
Condition is good with age old wear and loss typical from this period. Shows age effects and wear including scattered loss to painted finish and loss to finial tips. All adds to the overall look of this old piece which is handy for small spaces, enterances, bathrooms and so many other areas in the home.
No markings.
Late 19th/ early 20th. Century - very late Murghal / Anglo Indian / British Raj.
