The Royal Doulton scalloped blue and gold plate was made in England. The intricate blue and gold design is intermingled with hand painted pink roses. It is marked No. 72067 and HB5905. The purple backstamp indicates it was produced in the early 1900s.
The Hammersley & Co. plate has an Art Nouveau style with a a black and gold design motif, intermingled with delicately painted roses and flowers. It was imported by Ovington Brothers, a porcelain and fine china retailer in New York. The H & Co. maker's mark on the back is purple, circa 1887-1912. It also has an incised mark.
Both items are in pristine condition and virtually the same size. less
