Description: These striking reproduction chairs are copied from a New England Antique circa 1780s. Each chair exhibits the high back, flowing lines and sense of lightness and delicacy that are hallmarks of the neoclassic style. The 18th-century revival of interest in classical design was prompted in part by a growing fascination with Pompeii and Herculaneum, the ancient Roman sites of archeological excavations that began in the 1740s. Upholstered in a beautiful cut velvet fabric. Made by Kindel furniture considered the finest furniture in America.
