a captivating and warm gilt bronze finish, with six fluid arms in a stunning tropical arrangement.
Each feather arm is adorned with exquisitely molded frosted art glass tulips exhibiting geometric, stylized fruit and leaf patterns. Adding to its distinctive charm, these frosted glass shades are held by six palm leaf arms gracefully sloping downward and outward like a lily or a waterfall.
The heavy bronze central stem which culminates in a hexagonal-shaped bullet finial is finely machined and of exquisite quality and detail. This palmette masterpiece is completed by matching stylized floral details throughout the stem creating a harmonious visual symphony.
These geometric and flora motifs typify the period of French design inspired by the Paris Exhibition of 1925, entitled the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, dedicated to the display of modern decorative arts.
The chandelier can be shortened by removing varying chain links making it a maximum of 10" shorter, thus 37" total ht.
Can be used in a dining room, living room, bedroom, foyer, hallway, Florida room, greenhouse, sunroom, tropical environment, beach house, country farm house, aviary and can blend with any decor or period, Mid century Modern, Italian, design, contemporary, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Transitional, Traditional, Industrial, Scandinavian, Modernist, Boho chic, Folk art, Post Modern, Arts& Crafts...
Paul Gilles was a French designer who operated a factory and lighting shop at 27 rue Esquirol in Paris. He had other designers of the period make glass for his creations and vice versa. less
