Stunning scalloped charger with exquisite hand painted "Billingsley Roses" on gold ground with central gold medallion. Unmarked but certainly English from the early 1800s, possibly Coalport or Davenport.
The term "Billingsley roses" is after William Billingsley (1758-1828), a famous English ceramist and decorator who perfected a technique for painting flower petals.
