Circa 1780-1810 American slant-front desk of well figured solid cherry. Yellow pine secondary wood, typical of the upper South. Well fitted interior of valanced pigeon holes & drawers with prospect door. Raised on bracket feet (restored) and with apparently original bail & rosette brass pulls. Old round mar near one fall front lid hinge on the writing surface. Hinge lacks one screw, with three hinges, it is still very strong and sturdy.
