Lovely flowing leaf like detailing ending in a floral detail at the end of each arm. Wonderful juxdiposition of the light and delicate design made out of a solid, heavy material. They have a beautiful antique pantina that only age could create.

While their actual age isn't known, there is incomplete metal tubing on the backs that suggests these might once have been used with gas. They were at one point modified for electric light, but that modification has long since been removed. Pieces that were once attached to the sconces are included in the sale, both for historical interest and to assist in restoration to their original purpose if you are so inclined.

The sconces are complementary and intended to hang near each other. The sconce intended to be on the right is helpfully labeled "droite", which is helpful if you speak French. It is hard to overstate the elegance and presence of these sconces. They would be at home in a house filled with antiques or can add history and the flair of a French Chateau to any home. less
