Founded in 1872 by Samuel A. Weller, Weller Pottery began as a small operation in Ohio producing everyday items like flower pots and bowls. By the early 20th century, however, Weller had become the leading American art pottery company. Their success was due in part to their embrace of popular design movements like Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau. Weller pottery is known for its beautiful glazes, detailed floral designs, and incorporation of various artistic styles. The company continued to produce utilitarian and decorative pottery until it finally closed its doors in 1948. Today, Weller pottery is prized by collectors for its artistry and historical significance. less
