Color lithograph "Iesus Super Mare Ambulans" (Jesus Walks on Water, Matthew 14) from Salvador Dalí's monumental five-volume illustrated bible, published in Rome by Rizzoli, from 1967 thru 1969. This lithograph comes from the "Luxus" edition limited to 1499 copies. The print quality is superb, and Albert Field notes in "The Official Catalog of the Graphic Works of Salvador Dalí" that if you examine the original paintings and lithographs side by side, the only way to distinguish between the two is the paint on the originals. Print size: 19 x 13 3/4 inches. Included is the print, plus the chapter pages and the chapter's title page printed on Japon paper.
Salvador Dalí was simply one of the most famous and influential artists of the 20th century. Dalí's works were characterized by his unique and imaginative style, blending surrealism with meticulous attention to detail. His art often delved into the realms of dreams, the subconscious, and the irrational.
