Mr. Burnett's work is widely collected … more Large Figurative Abstract Painting by listed African American Boston-based artist Calvin Waller Burnett (1921-2007). Mr. Burnett's work is widely collected and his abstracted figurative work is very popular and immediately identifiable. The piece is unframed and is signed in the artist's usual scratched style in the bottom left corner.

The artist's work is held in many significant private collections as well as in the collections of such major institutions as the Smithsonian, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of African American History and the Boston Public Library. Mr. Burnett was the founder of the Association of African American Artists.

This painting is in good condition with no damage and only minor wear. There are some stretcher frame marks to the surface and minor age-related craquelure.
