Description: This is a rare antique walnut Davenport desk, which was once used by ship captains. It has beautiful marquetry inlay … more This is a rare antique walnut Davenport desk, which was once used by ship captains. It has beautiful marquetry inlay and a lift-up compartment with a fitted interior and a small gallery. The desk has a handsome, old, worn, tooled leather top, a bank of side drawers on the right, and "faux" drawers on the other side. The hinged door opens to reveal faux drawers, one center drawer flanked by pigeon holes. The desk is surmounted above a fixed panel with inlaid trim and is resting on trestle feet with casters. Unfortunately, it lacks a key. The dimensions of the desk are 21 1/8" W, 20" D, and 34 1/2” H. Signs of age are evident, including losses of the interior desk compartments, which have broken. I believe I have all the wood making it a good candidate for restoration. less
