Attributed to designer František Jirák who is known for his striking case pieces and wall units, and for playful compact furniture that distinguish Czech Design of the mid-20th century. Made in the 1960s, the stylish monochromatic design bears the hallmarks of Midcentury Modern simplicity. A low-set seat on angled legs is framed by the fluid lines of the bentwood armrests. The arms curve upwards and downwards with dynamism, punctuated by a quick turn following the line of the angled chair leg. The linen white upholstery makes a clean contrast with the dark finish of the wood; a light patina gifts a subtle nostalgia. less
