The 196-page.softcover/wraps was published by The Press at California State University, Fresno. This volume details how Gilot grew as an artist ,both when she lived with Picasso for 10 years (from 1944) and after she left him in 1953. The book also describes her memories of the modern painting masters she met in Paris - Braque, Miro, Gris, and Duchamp. Using images from "the Commedia dell 'arte," Gilot unveils her aesthetic of "the gaze" - the interface between an artist's perception and their creation. An accomplished artist, with works in many world-wide museums, Gilot's book is a sought-after history and reference on Picasso, modern art masters, Gilot's independence and her painter's life in Paris Mid-Century. , This copy ihas been read..
