The shape and size of this custom framed oil painting on canvas really shows the depth and magnitude of the … more The shape and size of this custom framed oil painting on canvas really shows the depth and magnitude of the Texas landscape in the spring. Bluebonnet flowers, the Texas state flower and the occasional cacti are painted in exceptional detail alongside the green grassy slope. Beyond the landscape is a softly hued blue sky with rolling hills in the background. Again, detail is noted in the simple framed house with the red framed screen door. The piece is framed in a washed walnut finish.

The gifted artist depicted Texas in the spring accurately. The artist signature is faintly seen in the bottom right hand corner. This piece is by Frances Carr Cooper. She inscribed a sentiment on the back in what is remaining of the dust cover. She may have not been a known artist, but I knew her well, she is my later mother. Her roots were in central Texas. I wouldn't be surprised if the images in the painting are some she grew up with.
