Magnificent wood statue of St. Joseph, hand-carved of solid oak with intricate draped cloths and a beautiful, lifelike facial expression. A rare and exquisite work of 18th century religious art, this life-size statue comes from a small village chapel in Provence.
St. Joseph is described in the Gospel as a discreet but determined man and his stance portrays deep contemplation and silent strength. The detail in the raiment is stunning, extending all around.
