It’s … more This is a beautiful ironstone bowl and pitcher washing set by the Ford China Co., Ford City, PA, 1898-1904. It’s very unusual to have the two together. It has a blue steel etched style floral pattern on white ironstone with embossed borders and handle. There are hallmarks stamped on the bottom of both the bowl and pitcher. The glaze is intentionally crazed throughout, there are spots where the iron has made blemished during production which is typical of this material. There are also a few marks where the crazed texture has stained, which is expected for a functional antique of this age.

Makes a beautiful base for a floral center piece.

The Ford China Co. was started in 1898 by John Wick, Jr. and Captain John B. Ford and only existed as the Ford City China Company between the years of 1898 and 1904. It later became part of the Pennsylvania China Company.
