- This pair of cast brass or bronze bookends are unsigned, but presumed to have originated from North America, likely the … more This pair of cast brass or bronze bookends are unsigned, but presumed to have originated from North America, likely the United States, and date to approximately 1940 and done in the period Mid-Century Modern brutalist style. The bookends depict a stylized bare-chested male foundry worker pouring a ladle of molten metal into a mold. The bookends show some rough edges but otherwise are in excellent vintage condition. These are very solid and sturdy bookends and would support a considerable number of books. less
