Upholstered on all sides, it also has a thick down and feather cushion that one literally sinks into.
The Louis XVI style is accented by intricate carving on the frame. The upholstery is a French blue jacquard. The closeup of the fabric is fairly true to the color.
We wish this piece could talk. The previous owner bought it at auction from Austin Auction Gallery in Texas. We are unsure of its exact age but estimate it to be from the mid 20th century. The upholstery looks pristine and is perhaps a redo from the original.
This settee is a perfect size to tuck into a smaller space for a comfortable reading spot. It would also work with other pieces in a seating group. However you place it, it adds elegance and European charm to its surroundings.
The two toss pillows are included.
