The only problem is the damage on the top faux painting. I always had a big vase on this spot so it did not bother me. This damage could easily be done by an amateur faux painter. Likewise, for the corner damage. Otherwise, all the painting and gilding is like new/vintage condition. less

Beautifully crafted by JS - Cabinet maker Reproductions NY. in the late 1930"s. The label fell off the cabinet in shipment. The Grecian style paintings are wonderfully done. The top has water damage on the faux marble painting. The one corner has wear. (See photos). Very heavy and sturdy. I don't know what wood is used as a base for the gilding and painting except it is heavy. I purchased this in the mid 1980's and am now downsizing. This piece has been in storage for quite a few years. less
